Question: Our company is a foreign owned capital company. We are intending to invest in construction and operation of office building for rent, trade center, convention and exhibition center, warehouse in an industrial zone. Would we be entitled to do so? What are the main conditions that we have to satisfy?
Question: Our company is a limited liability company with five members operating in the field of civil construction. We want to increase our charter capital by receiving the contribution from our existing members. There is a member wishing to contribute the value of his apartment under the apartment purchase agreement in which, he would be the owner of the apartment in 12 coming months from now. Would he be entitled to contribute the said apartment to the company charter capital?
Question: Our company has been investing in a project of construction of apartments building since 2006. The construction will be completed in 2010 but we began to sell the apartments in 2007. Based on the agreement between our company and the buyers, the buyers would paid us into 5 installments, in which 02 installments would paid before January 01, 2009 and 03 installments would be paid after that. We have not issued VAT invoice, declared and paid output VAT on the money we receive from the buyers. Our understanding is under the new regulations on VAT, as from January 01, 2009, for each installment that we receive from the buyer, the VAT shall be determined and declared in the tax calculation period that we receive that payment. How would the VAT on the installments that we received before January 01, 2009 be declared?
Question: We are a US based holding company having a representative office in Vietnam and we are also searching the opportunities to invest in Vietnam by acquiring shares of Vietnamese companies or setting up some 100% foreign owned capital companies in Vietnam. We are considering some options of housing for our personnel in Vietnam. We knew that the foreigners are recently entitled to buy a house in Vietnam. Is our current representative office entitled to buy house in Vietnam for our staffs? Could you provide us with some major conditions that our company would satisfy to buy houses in Vietnam?
Question: A year ago, one of my friends working in Vietnam told me that foreigners could only rent houses and were not entitled to buy or inherit or receive houses as gifts in Vietnam. He also told me that the new regulations on this matter might be changed to provide the foreigner with the possibility to own a house in Vietnam. Now I am intending to live in Vietnam and looking for some options for housing. Is there any change in the regulations? Could you tell me something more about this topic?
